Description
Eco-Bb® is a highly effective biological insecticide formulated with Beauveria bassiana strain R444, a naturally occurring entomopathogenic fungus. This wettable micro-granule formulation offers a powerful, environmentally friendly solution for the suppression of a wide range of insect pests across various crops, including citrus, tomatoes, avocados, and beans. Eco-Bb® works by infecting pests upon contact, making it a versatile tool in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs and organic farming.
Features
• Natural Bio-Insecticide: Eco-Bb® contains spores of Beauveria bassiana, which naturally occurs in soils worldwide. This non-toxic formulation is ideal for organic farming and has no withholding period, allowing for application up to and during harvest.
• Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: Effective against multiple stages of the pest life cycle (egg, larvae/nymph, pupa, and adult), Eco-Bb® controls a wide range of insect pests including whiteflies, red spider mites, false codling moth, mealybugs, and leafminers.
• Unique Mode of Action: The fungus penetrates the insect's cuticle and invades its body, feeding on internal organs and eventually causing death. This unique mode of action makes Eco-Bb® an excellent tool for managing pest resistance.
• Superior Micro-Granule Formulation: The spores in Eco-Bb® are encapsulated in a dry oil formulation, protecting them from UV damage and desiccation. This ensures longer viability and greater efficacy when applied to target pests.
• Adapted to Harsh Conditions: The R444 strain of Beauveria bassiana was isolated from the soils of Clanwilliam, South Africa, and is specially adapted to hot, dry, semi-desert conditions, making it robust and resilient in tough climates.
Application
• Dosage: 10g/10L depending on crop, spray volume, pest severity, and growth stage.
• Application Timing: Apply as a full cover spray every 7-14 days, ensuring contact with the pest. Early-stage infestation is ideal for best results.
• Suitable Crops: Eco-Bb® can be used on a wide range of crops, including tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, citrus, avocados, and stone fruits. It is effective against pests like red spider mites, mealybugs, whiteflies, and false codling moths.
